Struts were replaced today. The hood struts popped out at the bottom and had a bolt and pin on the hood.
For the hatch strut, I used struts from a 87-95 Jeep Wrangler as discussed in this thread here. The Jeep Wrangler strut has about 1/3 the stiffness which will hopefully keep the hatch from delaminating which is a common problem with the 944s. The Jeep struts also had connections for the wires which connect to the hatch defroster.

It took me a while, but I finally disassembled the engine. I plan on sending the block, head, and crankshaft to a machine shop. Hopefully it won't need any major repair. Bores honed, crankshaft polished, and cylinder head rebuilt. Parts Removed * Cam Tower * Head * Belts and Rollers * Oil
I pulled the transaxle with plans to reseal it. There is quite a bit of oil and sludge all around it. The mounts didn't look bad, but the rubber is about 40 years old at this point. I read on Rennlist a few posts where folks are adding
